Helping Flood Devastated Animal Shelter

In the wake of devastating flash floods in New Jersey that left Hope 4 Paws Humane Society underwater and homeless animals in crisis, Corradino & Papa, LLC has donated $2,500 to help the Plainfield shelter rebuild and continue its lifesaving mission.

The personal injury law firm, which has built its practice on helping people in their darkest moments, responded immediately when they learned about the shelter's desperate situation. Following Monday night's severe flooding, which prompted Governor Phil Murphy to declare a state of emergency across New Jersey.

The flooding was nothing short of catastrophic for the recently rebranded Hope 4 Paws Humane Society, formerly the Plainfield Area Humane Society. The entire facility on Rock Avenue went underwater, forcing staff and volunteers to swim through floodwaters and debris to rescue more than 80 cats and dogs trapped in their cages.

"They were sitting in darkness with water quickly filling their cages; many were already chest deep in the flood," the shelter reported on social media. While all animals were successfully moved to safety, the shelter lost everything 一 food, bedding, medical supplies, and essential equipment stored in their basement.

Corradino & Papa’s donation reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting their community during times of crisis. The $2,500 donation will help Hope 4 Paws with immediate cleanup efforts, taking care of their animals, and restocking critical supplies as they work toward rebuilding or relocating their facility.

The shelter, which serves Berkeley Heights, Springfield, North Plainfield, South Plainfield, Scotch Plains, and Bound Brook, is currently unable to accept physical donations due to the extensive damage. However, monetary donations can be made through their website.
